Hello! My name is Colette Garrett. I grew up here in the Texas panhandle. I moved away for a while, and during that time I completed my 200 hour teacher training. Now I am back, and I'm so excited to share everything I've learned with my hometown!
I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease when I was 14 years old. For years I struggled to manage my health. I started practicing yoga because I wanted to find a sustainable way to move my body -- to help me live life for myself and not just my illness. That’s exactly what I found in my yoga practice, and that’s why I am particularly drawn to hatha yoga. I love teaching alignment, so students can tune into their bodies while also finding greater strength, flexibility, and self worth.
I completed my 200-hr Teacher Training Program with Camie Garvey at Abilene Yoga House. I’ve also attended immersion workshops with Tias Little and Linda Spackman. I teach because I want to share this incredible practice with everyone. I want others to experience the same sense of community, love, and acceptance that I’ve felt through yoga. I love how the lessons we learn on our mat can translate so easily to the rest of our lives.
